A Suffolk cop has been arrested and accused of workers' compensation fraud Wednesday.
Police say Officer William Lynch, of the 1st Precinct in West Babylon, collected compensation for 163 days after he said his abilities were limited following a car accident last February. However, other officers say they saw Lynch doing construction work and participating in other physical activities he previously said he could not perform.
Lynch is charged with grand larceny, insurance fraud and defrauding the government. Suffolk Police Commissioner Richard Dormer says Lynch has been suspended and, if found guilty, will be dismissed immediately.
