Suffolk and New York state police partnered for the 14th annual “Cops Who Care” food drive.
They handed out free hams, turkeys and toys in Bay Shore to local families.
“You never know whose suffering, the neighbor who has a beautiful house may not have enough food in the house,” says Suffolk’s acting
Police Commissioner Risco Mention-Lewis. “So having the ability to hop in your car, drive by, stick your head out the window and get food for the holidays is a win for the community and a win for the police.”
The toys given out were donated by the U.S. Marine’s “Toys for Tots” program.
