If you're thinking about having some doughnuts for breakfast or a second slice of cake for dessert, a new study may make you reconsider.
A report claims that almost 60 percent of Nassau County residents are either overweight or obese. The report says that almost 20 percent of those living in Nassau are obese and close to 40 percent are overweight. Less than 50 percent, according to the report, exercise moderately.
Some residents blame the rise in weight on fast-paced lifestyles. Many say they would rather eat out instead of cooking because they don?t have time.
County Executive Tom Suozzi (D) offered this advice on the survey's findings: "People are not exercising enough, they're not eating properly. So stop smoking, go for a walk and eat an apple."Related Information: Nassau County Health Department Study
