Students from Uniondale promoted global tolerance and non-violence on Monday.
Amityville High School students celebrated International World Peace Day by creating pinwheels.
The United Nations declared the day to strengthen the ideals of peace back in 1982.
The students, who have honored the day for the past six years, made 160 brightly colored pinwheels.
More than 6 million pinwheels were expected to be on display around the world today.
