NASA engineer Kobie Boykins treated hundreds of Long Island students to a mission to Mars at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City.
Boykins, who worked on the Mars Rover, explained to more than 600 middle school and high school students how they successfully landed on the Red Planet.
He also talked about a manned mission to Mars one day.
"That sounds fascinating to me, because I would love to go to Mars," said sixth-grader Jaden Estrada.
Boykins says their next mission is scheduled for 2016.
