Teachers and students at Shoreham-Wading River High School are mourning the loss of a classmate Tuesday.
Police say 17-year-old Carlos Morales was driving to a friend?s house around 3 p.m. Monday with another friend driving a car in front of him on Wading River Manorville Road. Morales tried to pass his friend, lost control of his car and hit a tree. Police say Morales only had a junior license and shouldn?t have been driving alone.
Grief counselors are on hand at the high school to help students deal with the tragedy.
