Children at Pasadena Elementary School in Plainview learned about the importance of preserving aquatic wildlife today.

Representatives from the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery helped students kick off their yearlong science project to raise trout.

At the end of the semester, students are expected to go on a fishing trip.
