The food vendors at Stony Brook University are serving up more generous portions in response to a student petition that garnered more than 2,000 signatures.
Students say it also appears that staff in the campus dining areas has doubled and the lines are moving more quickly.
Wendi Gretz is a marketing director for Sodexo, the company in charge of food at Stony Brook. She says the company acknowledged students' concerns and sent out a memo last week to increase staff and portion sizes and offer more healthy foods.
Stephen Megos, a student, says it shocked him to see the improvements.
