Nassau officials say the number of coronavirus cases in the county is up to four after three women tested positive in the Town of Hempstead.

Nassau officials say the three new patients are all close contacts of the first person in the county to contract the disease. The first person to contract the disease is a 42-year-old man, who remains in isolation at NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola.

Authorities say the three new coronavirus patients are ages 36, 41, and 63, and live in the Town of Hempstead. Of those three women, health officials say one is hospitalized and the other two are self-quarantined at home.

The three women are described as the male patient's close contacts.

Testing for the virus will take place at several medical facilities in the state, including Northwell Health's laboratory in Lake Success.

Officials are waiting on the results of 16 tests in Nassau. There are no confirmed cases in Suffolk but nine results are pending.
