Police have identified the Merrick man who was stabbed to death in his home.

Homicide detectives say 32-year-old Evan Grabelsky was involved in a violent struggle at his home on Elliot Street, shortly before midnight. Police say the man was stabbed multiple times.

Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives say the victim, who lives with his family, was home alone at the time.

Officials do not think this was a random attack.

Police are still looking for the killer.
