There are new details in the case against former Suffolk DA Thomas Spota and his top aide – including new documents that reveal a plot to obstruct justice.
Spota and Christopher McPartland have been indicted for allegedly trying to cover up the beating of a suspect by former Police Chief James Burke.
New court papers show the men tried to root out an informant against Burke.
Spota allegedly told an official that if anyone flipped on Burke, they'd be dead and never work in Suffolk County again.
Burke later pled guilty in the case and was sentenced to 46 months in prison.
