Residents in one part of Seaford are used to storms flooding their neighborhood and Elsa proved to be no different.
Frank Spadaro, of Seaford, lives on Waverly Avenue. The street did get flooded, but Spadaro says that is to be expected with a storm.
"We just have to live day by day when there is a storm," says Spadaro. "You just have to brace yourself, move our cars, and lose days of work."
While there wasn't a lot of tidal flooding on the South Shore, inland there were some storm drains that could barely keep up.
On Broadhollow Road in Farmingdale, state highway crews had to close two lanes of busy Route 110 in front of Adventureland.
John Weissinger, of Massapequa, says Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway were pretty much shutdown so he couldn't get to work.
