Temperatures are cold this morning, in the lower teens. Hypothermia and frostbite continue to be a threat in the morning until Sunday, but the wind is light, and sunny afternoons will bring less brutal cold.
High temperatures this afternoon are still below freezing, but some snow melt will occur on dark surfaces. Watch for patches of black ice and icicles. Wind chill temperatures this afternoon are in the low 20s. Our coldest stretch of days in six years is finally losing its grip on the city.
Friday is cold, but not as bitter. Temperatures will be in the 20s in the morning with highs near freezing. The wind chill tomorrow afternoon is in the mid-20s.
Saturday morning will be in the teens, but afternoon highs are in the mid-30s which will help melt some snow. Expect generally sunny skies this weekend. Sunday is a few degrees warmer, so that is the pick out of the two days!
Next week will be mild to start, in the 40s, but then chilly weather returns mid-week. At this time, there is no threat for winter weather through at least the early part of next week.
