It's a wet start to Thanksgiving morning. Although there is no heavy rain in the forecast, steady drizzle and showers will create wet roads that could reduce visibility and slow travelers down. This is "plain" rain for most of us, but some wet snow may mix in for our highest elevations.

Conditions will improve from west to east during the afternoon, but temperatures will quickly drop. Gusts could approach over 30 mph and temperatures will drop below freezing by Friday morning. There could be icy puddles.

The coldest air of the season arrives for the weekend. High temperatures will be mainly in the 30s, with feels like temperatures in the teens during the morning. The cooler than normal temperatures will stick around through the first week of December.

THANKSGIVING : Steady showers all morning tapering off by the evening. High near 50. Becoming breezy in the afternoon with wind gusts up to 50 mph.

FRIDAY: Sun and clouds and windy. A passing shower is possible. Highs in the mid-40s, feels like upper 30s. Wind gusts up to 30 mph.

SATURDAY: Sun and clouds, breezy and cold. High near 40.

NEXT WEEK: Mostly sunny, breezy and bitter cold. Highs in the upper 30s to start, gradually returning to the 40s by next Thursday.
