WHAT'S NEW: The massive winter storm, that is sweeping across and gripping the nation, is impacting the Northeast tonight. Long Island will see heavy rain and gusty winds with a chance of coastal flooding and isolated power outages.
WHAT'S NEXT: One of the coldest Christmas' we've experienced in a while will be here and that deep chill won't leave us until mid week next week. New Year's Eve & Day though is looking milder but comes along with a chance of rain showers.

FORECAST:
OVERNIGHT: Batches of moderate to heavy rain along with increasing winds and a chance of isolated thunderstorms as well, will move in as a warm front lifts past us. Temps will continue to rise through the night. Avg. Low: 28. Lows: upper 40s to low 50s.
FRIDAY: Storm Watch – The heavy rains will take a break during the morning commute with scattered showers lingering. A arctic cold front arrives midday, briefly changing the rain to a wintry mix to snow through the afternoon hours as the temps will DROP from mild levels to frigid ones. Avg. high: 43. Highs: mid 50s. Lows: mid 10s.
SATURDAY: Christmas Eve – Bitter Blast - Partly cloudy, windy and feeling FRIGID! The eastern half of the island may see a few snow showers. Feels Like: low 10s. Highs: mid 20s. Lows: low to mid 10s.
SUNDAY: Christmas Day – Bitter Blast - Mostly Sunny & still very chilly! Feels Like: mid 10s. Highs: upper 20s. Lows: upper 10s.
MONDAY: Kwanzaa Begins – A sunny day with breezy winds and still trending below average. Feels Like: low 20s. Highs: upper 20s to low 30s. Lows: low 20s.
TUESDAY: Lots of sun and a lingering deep chill with less wind around. Highs: mid 30s. Lows: mid 20s.
WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy as we continue to thaw out. Highs: upper 30s. Lows: upper 20s.
