FORECAST
Overnight: Skies will remain mostly cloudy and gradually clear toward the morning across Long Island. It will be chilly, with temperatures dipping into the upper 30s to low 40s, but temperatures are expected to stay just warm enough to avoid widespread frost.
Sunday: Expect a dry and breezy day with plenty of sunshine. Gusty winds and low humidity will increase the risk for fires to spread across Long Island from late morning into early evening, so outdoor burning is discouraged.
Monday: Milder air moves in with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures rise into the upper 60s to low 70s, making for a pleasant and comfortable spring day.
Tuesday: Much warmer conditions take hold. Temperatures climb into the 70s, though areas along the immediate coast may stay a bit cooler with an onshore breeze.
Wednesday into Thursday night: A slow-moving storm system approaches, bringing periods of rain and the chance for thunderstorms. There is potential for heavier rain at times, which could lead to localized impacts across Long Island.
