BETTER WEATHER OVERNIGHT, BUT SLIPPERY

The mix of rain and snow from Thursday that brought coatings of snow to parts of Long Island is behind us other than a few lingering flurries. The sky becomes mainly clear into Friday morning and temperatures drop into the upper 20s to lower 30s. This means that areas of black ice can form. Have a winter coat and just watch your step and driving on Friday morning in case you hit some icy spots.

Clouds will build on Sunday as the next storm approaches Long Island. Expect rain and gusty wind on Monday with highs in the 50s. Once the rain and associated cold front passes on Monday night, the sky will clear and sunny, but chillier weather will arrive for Saint Patrick's Day.
