News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Julian Seawright says to expect a total washout on Tuesday during a storm that could bring significant flooding to Long Island.
OVERNIGHT: Clear and cold with lows below freezing and frost expected. Lows near 30.
MONDAY: Ample sunshine. Very pleasant with highs in the low 40s. Overnight lows in the 30s.
TUESDAY: Dry in the morning, then heavy rain developing in the afternoon. Winds from the ESE at 10-20 MPH. Temperatures climb into the mid-40s.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Storm Watch Heavy rain expected in the evening with localized flooding. 2" of rain is expected. Windy from the ESE at 20-35 MPH with gusts up to 50 mph. High temperatures overnight will reach the low- to mid-50s.
WEDNESDAY: Rain tapers off during the morning commute with peeks of sunshine in the afternoon. Peak wind reaches 50 MPH before sunrise, with gusts diminishing to 30 MPH during the afternoon. Temperatures steadily in the low 50s.
THU & FRI: Dry and mild with highs in the mid-40s and lows in the 30s.
SATURDAY: Showers expected with temperatures too warm for winter weather. Highs near 50.
