FLOOD WATCH: New Jersey can expect 1-3 inches of heavy rain on Tuesday

The News 12 Storm Watch Team says Tuesday's weather will create significant flooding across parts of New Jersey.

A flood watch has been issued for the entire state of New Jersey from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening due to 1-3 inches of heavy rain causing potential river and flash flooding.
A coastal flood watch along the Delaware River for Salem, Camden, Gloucester, Mercer, and northwest Burlington counties is in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday through 4 a.m. Wednesday.
A high wind watch was also issued along the Jersey Shore from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday due to possible downed trees and power lines caused by 40-50 MPH wind gusts.
After this potential midweek headache, another system may move in for the weekend bringing rain, wind and some possible wintry weather to the north and west.
OVERNIGHT: Gradual clearing. Lows around 30. Feels in the 20s.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny and cold. Feels in the 30s. Highs in the 40s.
TUESDAY: Cloudy skies with rain and wind building. Flood risk in north and central Jersey. Highs near 50.
WEDNESDAY: Rainy and windy in the morning with clearing skies late. Highs around 50.
REST OF WEEK: Nice Thursday and Friday with another system building for the weekend. Highs sliding from the 40s into the 30s.
