Be prepared to budget extra travel time tomorrow morning and watch out for scattered ponding of water and slick roads.

The past two months have been much drier than normal, but we are now finally seeing a couple of rain chances over the next week.
The first will come overnight. Rain develops after midnight and will be heavy at times Wednesday morning. This will be a quick hit of around 1/2 to 1 inch of rain. This will not completely fix the very dry conditions Long Island is experiencing, but it is a small step in the right direction. Nicer weather moves in quickly Wednesday afternoon!
Thursday and Friday will be much cooler with temperatures only reaching the low to mid 60s at best, but both days will be mainly sunny.
FORECAST:
WEDNESDAY: STORM WATCH (AM) — Periods of moderate to heavy rain in the morning. It will be a bit windy still, too with some gusts near 30 mph. Rain will be tapering off late morning with drier weather arriving during the afternoon along with breaks of sunshine. Afternoon highs around 72 degrees. Mostly clear, but breezy and chilly at night. Lows near 47 degrees.
THURSDAY: MUCH COOLER! Mostly sunny and breezy with highs only around 60 degrees. Lows near 45 degrees.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and not as windy with highs around 63 degrees. Lows near 50 degrees. SATURDAY: Sun and clouds. Highs around 67 degrees. Lows near 53 degrees. SUNDAY: Cloudy with periods of moderate to heavy rain possible along with gusty wind if a storm system tracks close enough to Long Island. Highs around 65 degrees. Lows near 52 degrees.
MONDAY: Cloudy with the chance for periods of lingering rain. Highs around 67 degrees. Lows near 54 degrees.
TUESDAY: Sun and clouds. Highs around 66 degrees. Lows near 55 degrees.
