News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Darryl Green says a strong storm system will arrive after 1 p.m. Thursday. Brief wet snowflakes and freezing rain will be possible in New York City before transitioning to mainly cold rain. Reduced visibility from heavy rain and wind will cause hazardous travel conditions.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, not as cold, lows near 30.

Thursday: Cloudy, cold and breezy with late-day rain, possibly starting as snow showers. Highs near 40. Periods of moderate to heavy rain with gusty wind at night.

Friday: Rain and wind, highs around the mid-40s. Evening showers with late night partial clearing.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, highs from the upper-30s to low-40s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, highs from the mid- to upper-30s.

Monday: Mostly sunny, highs near 40.
