The overnight storm knocked out power to almost 40,000 at its peak, according to PSEG Long Island.
The power company says the wind took down power lines all over the area. Anyone with a power outage should call 1800-490-0075.
Meanwhile, the wicked weather also caused big problems on the LIRR during the morning commute.
After 2 a.m., the LIRR suspended service both ways between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma due to downed power lines and poles. It has since been restored.
Downed trees and power lines also halted service between Speonk and Montauk, but it was restored around 8 a.m.
