The weather is expected to put a damper on Thanksgiving travel plans for Long Islanders due to an incoming storm.
It comes as a record number of travelers are expected this year.
LaGuardia Airport already was a little more crowded Tuesday morning ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The wet weather is expected to move in tonight into Wednesday and bring heavy rain and strong winds.
Travel experts say it is important for people to be prepared and patient.
"Pack some extra snacks with you. Make sure in your carry-on bag you have your medications, anything in case you do get stuck or delayed somewhere for an extended period of time, a change of clothes. If you haven't already purchased travel insurance. We strongly recommend always having travel insurance,” said Matthew Kondrup, Matty K Travel Group Owner.
Experts also say it is important to arrive at the airport early.
