Storm-related delays on the Long Island Rail Road were so bad at one point on Monday that officials closed down Penn Station in Manhattan.
The wild weather knocked trees and phone poles onto the tracks and caused signal problems, officials say.
Multiple LIRR lines struggled with suspensions, delays and limited service.
Some commuters say it took twice as long as normal to get home. Other riders say the MTA did not keep them adequately updated as the delays rolled on.
