Stony Brook University has a new interim president.
Richard McCormick will serve as interim leader starting Aug. 1.
McCormick served as Rutger’s president from 2002 to 2012, and as the president of the University of Washington before that.
McCormick succeeds Maurie McInnis who became president of Yale earlier this month.
Stony Brook hopes to have a permanent leader in place by the 2025-2026 academic year.
