The Stony Brook University men's basketball team missed their chance to make it to the NCAA tournament with a last-second loss to Albany Saturday.
The Great Danes beat the Seawolves 51 to 50, pulling off a 3-point winning shot at the last second.
The Seawolves had won eight straight, but topping Albany was nearly impossible - the Danes came into the game tops in the league with a 15-1 record. However, Albany's single loss this season was to the Seawolves.
It marked Stony Brook's fourth time in five seasons that they came this close to reaching the tournament. Last year, Stony Brook lost at home to Albany and lost their chance at the big dance.
