A woman who saw video of herself on News 12 Long Island stealing a puppy has returned the dog.
Cloud, a 3 ½-month-old teacup Malshipoo, was stolen from Petite Pups in Huntington Station. The theft was caught on surveillance camera.
The woman on the video had an apparent change of heart today and called the store, telling employees she was tired of seeing her face on the news.
News 12 was there as the woman called a second time and store employees negotiated terms of the dog's return, agreeing not to press charges, if they just got Cloud back.
Now that Cloud is back, the manager says the dog will be checked by a veterinarian. The manager also says there are already a lot of people who have expressed interest in buying him.
Although the owners say they're not pursuing charges, police had previously come to the store to collect surveillance video and say they are still investigating.
Cloud is expected to sell for $2,600.
