State troopers honor fallen officers in ceremony ahead of Memorial Day

This year’s ceremony honored 15 troopers and one special investigator who died in the line of duty.

Local state troopers honored and paid tribute to their brothers and sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice on Monday.
New York State Police Troop L held its annual memorial service at the Troop L headquarters in East Farmingdale.
This year’s ceremony honored 15 troopers and one special investigator who died in the line of duty.
"This ceremony is our way of paying tribute to their lives and recognizing their sacrifice as well as thanking them for holding the title of state trooper,” said Troop L commander Major Stephen J. Udice.
