A Nassau Sept. 11 memorial in serious need of repairs is getting a makeover thanks to state funding.
The memorial at Eisenhower Park has worn-out tiles, peeling paint, missing floodlights, cracked walls and a broken fence, which are expected to be fixed.
State Assemblyman Charles Lavine (D-Glen Cove) says he helped secure the $125,000 in state funding to restore the site.
There is no word on when the repair work will begin.
