A driver heading the wrong way on the Northern State Parkway set off a chain of crashes that sent several people to the hospital, state police say.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. near an overpass behind Roslyn Road.
State police say a driver was heading eastbound in the westbound lanes near exits 29 and 30 on the Northern State Parkway.
They say that the driver struck multiple cars and caused a separate accident between two cars.
Police say four people were taken to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
The wrong-way driver was arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs.
