State officials: Uniondale coronavirus patient’s condition improving

The man who was diagnosed with the first confirmed case of coronavirus on Long Island is a Uniondale resident, the Uniondale Union Free School District says.

The condition of the Uniondale man who contracted the coronavirus is improving, according to state officials.
The 42-year-old man tested positive for the virus Thursday morning and is being treated in isolation at NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola.
Officials said the man had underlying medical conditions, but they have not confirmed what those conditions are or how he contracted the virus.
The Nassau County Health Department told News 12 that 48 people are still being monitored for the virus and 18 tests are pending.
Seventeen people are being monitored in Suffolk County with four tests pending.
