6ds agoIslip town officials celebrated the grand opening Thursday of the new state-of-the-art Ground Vehicle Transportation Center at MacArthur Airport.
The center will be a hub for all ground vehicles like rental cars, taxi stands and ride-hailing services.
"This building is about 12,000 square feet. It used to be occupied by the Federal Aviation Administration and was vacant for several years, and we thought it was a wonderful opportunity to put all of our transportation into one consolidated facility," says Islip Airport Commissioner Shelley Larose-Arken.
The center officially opens to customers on April 6.
