The state is pitching in to help small business owners who served in the military.

Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli just announced a loan to 5th Avenue Chocolatier, a chocolate distributor owned by an Iraq war veteran.

The money comes from a $4 million small business loan program for veterans. DiNapoli says the money could help new long-running family businesses or brand-new up-starts.

Veterans can receive up to $150 million in small business loans.
