Monday may mark the unofficial end to summer, but this year officials say you can spend more time at the beach.
The state has announced extended swimming days at several Long Island beaches.
More than a dozen of the most popular parks, including Robert Moses and Jones Beach, will remain open until Sept. 17. It is two weeks later than usual.
