The state attorney general has launched an investigation into the sudden closure of Carlyle at the Palace.
The Plainview catering hall, which was inside a building owned by the Nassau OTB, shut its doors last week.
OTB officials say Steve Carl rented the Plainview facility. They say he fell behind in rent and emailed them on Tuesday saying he was going out of business.
News 12 reported that dozens of families who booked events there are now scrambling to find new venues.
