Stabbing survivor speaks out after alleged attacker released without bail

According to police, Joseph was arrested on March 23. He was charged with 13 criminal counts, including attempted murder, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon charges, among others.

News 12 spoke one-on-one with stabbing survivor Kaitlynn Berman on Tuesday.

Back on March 22, Berman says 22-year-old Christopher Joseph stabbed her 22 times with a kitchen knife.

According to police, Joseph was arrested on March 23. He was charged with 13 criminal counts, including attempted murder, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon charges, among others.

On Dec. 10, Judge Darlene R. Goldberg released Joseph on his own recognizance, with no bail.

The Bronx District Attorney's Office told News 12 they wanted cash bail set at $1 million. They were overruled.

Berman said she now fears for her life and her daughter's life.

Joseph is due back in court on Jan. 16.

Following the publication of this article, the Bronx District Attorney’s Office reports during the December 10th court appearance, Judge Darlene Goldberg ordered Christopher Joseph released on his own recognizance, without bail, due to the D.A.’s failure to make a key deadline to set bail.
