A Verplanck man convicted in the 1980 murder of a Rockland County teenager is back in jail after violating parole.

Robert McCain, 65, was sentenced in March to six months in jail in Peekskill City Court.

McCain pleaded guilty to aggravated harassment and petit larceny stemming from an incident in Peekskill last November, according to the City Court.

The state corrections department said McCain also received a six‑month sentence for violating his parole.

It was not clear whether the two six‑month sentences will be served at the same time.

McCain previously served four months in jail for groping a woman at a park in Cortlandt last July.

In 2021, McCain was paroled after serving 40 years in prison for the 1980 murder of 16‑year‑old Paula Bohovesky of Pearl River.
