Every April, the members and families of the Elks Lodge in Lynbrook host a show and dinner for disabled veterans from VA hospitals.
The evening offers a home-cooked meal and a variety show for more than 100 veterans who have served in wars dating to WWII through to Afghanistan and Iraq.
"I've been with the show since 1971," says Donald Kolman, of Lynbrook. "I enjoy it as much as they do."
This year's theme is the Sounds of the 70s, featuring classic rock and disco, classic TV theme songs and more.
At the end of the show, the cast sings the anthems of all the military services with a veteran from each branch.
