A Wantagh woman is finally home Friday with her family after spending four months in the hospital fighting COVID-19.
Martha Raffloer hasn't seen her two kids in four months. Raflloer was battling COVID-19 at LIJ Hospital.
"I'm in shock," says Raffloer. "I feel like I'm dreaming."
Raffloer says being away from her kids was the hardest part of it all. She says it was amazing to see them in person because she only got to see them through FaceTime.
Dan Raffloer, Martha's husband, says there was a solid handful of people that motivated her.
Neighbors helped decorate the outside of the house for the big homecoming.
"Just to see the willpower of this woman, to come home finally after four months in the hospital and just celebrate her," says Barbara Haddow.
Raffloer says her family never gave up on her and that's what helped.
