The Special Advocacy Coalition (SPEAC) held its annual Red Carpet Event to celebrate adults with different abilities.
The event was held inside the Friedberg JCC in Oceanside and showcased inclusion, equality and respect.
"A night to remember, a night to celebrate, a night to advocate, a night to be one," says Founder and President of SPEAC Ashley Gazes.
Gazes says she first organized a talent show portion for the event three years ago as a way to celebrate and advocate for adults with disabilities.
Organizers of the event say the night is an opportunity for the attendees to feel respected, appreciated and to showcase their talents.
"Even though they have a disability that there are many, so many things that they do really well," says Marcy Hallerman, of Friedberg JCC. "And this gets them an opportunity to show our community how great they are."
