Students from Southold Elementary School took a tour of the Peconic Land Trust in Southold today to learn about farming.

The children were taught about life on a farm and how produce is grown on Long Island. Potatoes were the crop focused on and students were able to plant and harvest their own potatoes.

Teachers at the school say the students have their own garden at the school, where they do their own planting and composting.
