Southampton has voted to regulate Uber drivers just like taxis.
The Southampton Town Board voted Tuesday to require Uber drivers to register and pay licensing fees, according to Newsday.
Some cabbies have complained at town meetings that they have the burden of being licensed, while Uber drivers don't.
They say licensing Uber drivers, limo and livery car drivers will level the playing field, and in time for the busy summer season.
