The party could soon be over for a popular East End club.

The Town of Southampton may buy Neptune Beach Club on Dune Road in East Quogue for $3.2 million, then shut it down.

Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst says the owner of Neptune approached the town board with an offer to preserve the beachfront property. Town officials say they may also buy the land, keep the structure and turn it into an upscale restaurant.

While the loss of tax revenue will hurt, Throne-Holst says she believes the town will approve the purchase.
