Saturday's rainy weather didn't stop oyster lovers from enjoying the Oyster Festival in Oyster Bay.
It is the 40th year of the popular waterfront event which draws close to 200,000 visitors each year.
"There is something for everybody,” said organizer Harlan Friedman. “The food is fantastic from the fried oysters to raw oysters.”
The festival also offered 30 different food options like lobster rolls, mussels, clams and other savory choices.
There are close to 100 arts and crafts vendors participating in the festival as well as a beer and wine section.
Organizers say the Oyster Festival also helps to raise money for local charities.
"This is a family event that ties the entire community of New York and Long Island together," said Monica Ruben, the event's chairperson.
Oyster Fest continues on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., rain or shine.
