The Somers High School football team is celebrating a win at this past weekend’s state championship game.
After losing by just one point in last year's state title game, they made it all the way back to Syracuse this year to get another shot, taking on Union-Endicott.
In this year's game, Somers took just 22 seconds to get on the board.
Somers got redemption as they won 58-28 and are now New York Class A State Champions! "We came out very emotional, and we just came out and made big plays early. Everyone was clicking, our defense was clicking. It feels great," says quarterback Matt Fitzsimmons.
"It's my last game playing at Somers High School so I just wanted to leave everything I had out on the field. Shout out to the coaches, they just put a lot of trust in all of us," says Ravi Dass, senior running back
"Everybody feels great, we made it and we won it. We finished the unfinished and we sealed the deal with this game," added Luke Savino, senior running back.
