Snowed-in Lindenhurst and Bay Shore residents say they had no choice but to take matters into their own hands to plow out their neighborhood.
Danny Kelm and others in Lindenhurst say they had to wait 24 hours just to see a plow. Once that plow did show up, they claim it didn't clear the entire block.
"They had a hard time getting down the street because of the dead end," says Kelm. "My car and my brother-in-law's car got stuck. We had to push [them] out."
Scott Dimperio and a Bay Shore neighbor claim they had a similar situation. The two got behind the wheel to plow out Cedar Drive, a task which took them four hours "just to make it passable," Dimperio says.
