A Suffolk County restaurant abruptly closed its doors for good this week.
A sign on the door of 'Smokey Bones' in Ronkonkoma says their final day of business was Tuesday.
The barbecue-chain's only Long Island location was located just off of Exit 60 on the Long Island Expressway.
FAT Brands, the eatery’s parent company, quietly shut down all of their restaurants after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this year.
News 12 spoke to some customers who had no idea about the closure and were heading there for lunch.
"We were just here last weekend. Nobody said anything. They just told us they were discontinuing some items on the menu, nothing about closing,” said Jamie Rennick of Yaphank.
The most recent post on their social media page from Apr. 23 read, “A new taste is coming to town. New menu 4/21.”
