News 12 Long Island has learned that the Town of Smithtown has removed some of the excessive snow that has been piling up in the area.
Around 11 p.m last night the Smithtown Highway Department shut down Main Street and brought in their heavy equipment.
Payloaders were filling dump trucks with mounds of snow all night long.
Smithtown officials have not said exactly where that snow will be dumped.
Smaller bobcats, snowblowers, and shovels were used to clear the sidewalks in front of businesses.
