A nurse from Port Washington is becoming part of American
history. The vial that contained the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
administered in the U.S.is now at the Smithsonian in Washington.
Nurse Sandra Lindsay was given the first dose at Long
Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens.
The museum
has also obtained Lindsay's scrubs and identification badge.
The
Smithsonian says it's all being preserved as part of its plans to document the
pandemic.
