Small plane skids down runway at MacArthur

Officials say a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft skidded down the runway at MacArthur Airport around 1 p.m. According to officials, either the landing gear was not lowered or it collapsed.

Officials say a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft skidded down the runway at MacArthur Airport around 1 p.m.

According to officials, either the landing gear was not lowered or it collapsed.

News 12 Long Island has learned the plane is a private plane based at the airport and only the pilot was onboard at the time of the incident. There were no injuries reported.

The runway has since reopened.
